DR GILL I’ANSON
Consultant Clinical Psychologist
I am a Consultant Clinical Psychologist, having a BA (Hons) in Psychology and a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology. I am registered with the Health and Care Professions Council and Chartered through the British Psychological Society and on the UK Register of Expert Witnesses.
I have experience in assessing and working with adults, adolescents and children, and providing therapy using a variety of assessment methods and orientations, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, CBT and DBT.
My work mainly involves psychological assessment, including the assessment of risk, for cases in Family Court, Criminal Courts. I have worked in the field of mental health and psychology since 1995.
As a qualified Psychologist (1997) and Doctor of Clinical Psychology (2001), I have worked with children and families in both a community and hospital setting, working with multi-disciplinary teams. I have provided consultation to other professionals and agencies.
I also have experience in therapeutic interventions, providing supervision and training to a wider variety of Health Professionals, including Medical Staff, facilitating multi-disciplinary teams and managing multi-agency cases. I have also worked in a general and paediatric hospital setting, providing input to children’s paediatric services, also in a variety of community settings.
I am a Recognised Teacher at the University of Liverpool, providing training for Doctoral Trainees in child and family clinical psychology.
